COURSE 1: A Career in Film & TV
When you look at the endless credits on a film
or television show, I bet you wonder,
“What do half of those people actually do?”
What is a best boy, a gaffer, a prop master, a shopper
(yes, you actually get paid to shop for a living
and quite well at that).
In this fun & informative class we will guide you through
each position that is available on sets today and give you
a good overview as to what exactly that job entails; the
approximate pay, the difference between union and
non-union, how to get qualified for each job, whether it's
trade school, a 4 week course, mentorship programs, start
as an assistant or start right away on the job of your dreams -
each one has a different trajectory and we are excited to help
you find yours. I bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how
many of these jobs you are not only right for, but that you
would love doing and can attain quickly!
In our 4-hour class we will guide you through all the necessary
steps, so that by the time you leave us, you will be ready
to take action on the way to your new career.
A quick true story: My mother was a stay at home mom and at
the age of 50 she said, "Caroline, you look like you're having so
much fun on set, (I had just started my career and I was having a
blast and I still am), do you think I could work in the film industry?
I knew she definitely could. So, we sat together that afternoon and
we went through each position on a film set to see what might
peak her interest or fit nicely into her skill set. When I got to the
job of the script supervisor, it immediately struck a chord with her,
she said that sounded perfect. She took a 4 week script supervising class, did a student film and now 20 years later, my mom has done over 56 movies. She loves her job and it all came from sitting
down together and going through the possibilities.
That is why Frank and I are so excited to share this class with
you, especially given the last 2 difficult and unprecedented years
we've all gone through. That is what got us thinking about
this specific course and how we could share our knowledge and
experience, and possibly help people find a new job and career.
So many of our non-industry friends, from all over the world,
started reaching out to us and asking if there was a job we
thought they were right for, and the answer is, yes!
The film and TV business is everywhere these days, it's just
a matter of knowing which job sounds exciting to you!

Caroline & Frank
COURSE 2: Secrets to writing 10 script pages that will get you noticed!
Frank and Caroline have been working writers in Hollywood,
for the last 12 years and counting; having been produced or
been hired to write original screenplays, 1-hour and 1/2 hour
pilots, rewrites and polishes on other writers' scripts, they know
what it takes to get your script read and sold.
Together they have worked with almost every major and
mini-studio in Los Angeles, as well as such luminaries as;
Academy Award winning director Ridley Scott, (creating a 1-hr television show for him and CBS), Hugh Jackman, (writing a bio-pic
for him to star in, that 20th Century Fox and Icon bought),
box office sensation Bob Orci (Star Trek, Transformers, Mission Impossible 3) and Frank are writing a new superhero movie,
and AZ are currently in production on a new 1/2 hour animated
comedy series Spider vs. Fly, as well as the upcoming feature
Summer Gold, with Caroline directing and Frank producing.
One of the things a writer hears more often than anything,
"You have to hook them in the first 10 pages, or you've lost them."
Executives, producers, actors will literally stop reading your
screenplay if you haven't grabbed them in the first 10.
That's what this class is all about, how to keep the reader
engaged and wanting more. We will show you secrets and
tools that we have learned over the years that will hook your
reader in those crucial opening pages. And if you've already
written that first draft of your screenplay, super, we'll make sure
that you've hit all the opening story beats and set ups, so
that your payoffs down the line will be exciting!
